The 1960s office building is undergoing a large scale structural refurbishment, including a 2 storey extension, and an infill of the atrium on floors 1 through to 6, to create a brand new contemporary office environment.
The existing building is a nine storey reinforced concrete frame building of approximately 8,000 sqm gross area. The proposal seeks to introduce new enhanced frontage and extensions to Southwark Street & Great Guildford Street. The proposals will rationalise and consolidate the existing mass of the building. Internal reorganisation of the primary reception creates a new level access from 61 Southwark Street. A second level access reception is proposed for Great Guildford Street activating the street frontage.
AccentHansen Ltd has been chosen to supply the Glass Doors package on the project to refurbish 61 Southwark Street on London’s South Bank. AccentHansen’s works include the design, supply and installation of glass fire doors.
