This is the most significant urban development project in the UK and Europe. The client was Argent, Porphyrios Associates with Allies and Morrison were joint masterplanners and Townshend the landscape architects.
Buildings B5 and B6
Forming part of the 67 acre King’s Cross redevelopment canal-side location, B5 and B6 are both designed for commercial occupation forming part of the overall construction of 50 new buildings.
Building 5 (4 Pancras Square) is a Grade A 10 storey office and retail building located on the new Pancras Square and Goods Way, which is let to Universal Music. Building 6 (3 Pancras Square) is a Grade A office building located at the corner of King’s Boulevard and Goods Way, to global communications group, Havas.
Building B4 is one of three new office buildings that’s form a part of the masterplan for King’s Cross Central. The buildings look onto two new public spaces – Pancras Square and the King’s Boulevard. It provides 130,000 sq ft net Grade A office space above retail and restaurant uses.
Building B3, the new Camden Council public building at Pancras Square, is set to be one of the greenest in London after achieving a BREEAM sustainable design rating of ‘Outstanding’.
The 13 storey building is the first of its kind to combine a swimming pool, leisure centre, library, customer access centre, café and office accommodation and still achieve such a high environmental rating.
Building B2 (1 Pancras Square) is an office block, whose quality of architecture reflects the important position of this building at the gateway of the development. The iron twisted columns reflect the Victorian heritage of the site. The building is approximately 55,120 sq ft net over 8 floors. Shops and cafes will be housed at street level. As with most of the buildings on this development, goods and services for this building are delivered below street level via a shared access route.

Since 2011, AccentHansen has been supplying glass and steel door solutions to various buildings on the extensive Kings Cross development. AccentHansen is a CAT 1 supplier to one to of primary main contractors, BAM. A variety of doors were supplied to lift lobby areas, stairwells and in basements.
Over 60 steel doorsets properties have included security/PAS24, fire and acoustic performances, and many different configurations.
More than 60 slim-line Glazeshield FL glass fire doors have proven very popular with many of the buildings, married with the use of over a dozen Glazeshield Plus fire doors and screens for when greater insulation is needed. Finishes in stainless steel and powder coated paint have been supplied.
All doorsets have been individually designed, manufactured and installed to meet the clients’ requirements.
