1 Spinningfields (formerly 1 Hardman Square) is a 92-metre (20 floors) office tower constructed in the Spinningfields district of Manchester city centre.
Replacing an eight-storey 1960s’ office building, No. 1 Spinningfields is one of a cluster of tall buildings that acts as a group landmark for Spinningfields and also addresses a number of low scale historic and listed buildings. The resulting form is a series of interlocking volumes which address and relate to the surrounding context.

AccentHansen supplied over 60 steel doorsets for internal and external locations; mainly in the basement and at the top of the building. Most of the doors were fire-rated and single, leaf and half, and double leaf configurations.
A significant challenge was the restricted access to the building, caused by the confined location and lack of storage space. Coordinating with the main contractor, all deliveries and installations had to be timed, small batches and installed on the same day.
