Overview

Northumbria Police is the territorial police force responsible for policing the areas of Northumberland and Tyne and Wear in North East England.

In 2010 the authority invested £27m in the new building at Middle Engine Lane, Wallsend, which will provide a modern new headquarters for the North Tyneside Area Command. The state-of-the-art facility will become a base for around 300 police officers and staff, with a custody suite of 40 cells.

AccentHansen were commissioned in 2009 to design, supply and install a large number of steel doorsets for the North Tyneside Police HQ new build. A variety of types were required, to meet fire, security and acoustic performance criteria. In addition, many of the doors had various combinations vision panels, louvres and over-panels.

Since the original build, some additional doors have been supplied as replacements to damaged ones.
