Northumbria Police is the territorial police force responsible for policing the areas of Northumberland and Tyne and Wear in North East England.
In 2010 the authority invested £27m in the new building at Middle Engine Lane, Wallsend, which will provide a modern new headquarters for the North Tyneside Area Command. The state-of-the-art facility will become a base for around 300 police officers and staff, with a custody suite of 40 cells.
